Top Stocks to Watch Today: Thursday, March 25

NFTs are the top stocks to watch today — again. When a sector’s hot, it’s HOT!

This is why you must ALWAYS watch recent runners and stocks in hot sectors.

News can create massive spikes and squeeze early, over-aggressive short-sellers. You’ll see a perfect example on today’s list. I was able to capitalize on the move thanks again to StockToTrade Breaking News Chat.*

And if more companies start entering the NFT space, it could mean more potential upside for the entire sector.

But I’m always ready to adapt if the sector cools off or the market shifts. Expect the worst and you won’t be disappointed.

Here’s my list of the top 10 stocks to watch today…

10 Stocks to Watch for Thursday, March 25, 2021

Remember, this is a watchlist, not a ‘must trade’ list. I’m not always right, and I don’t trade everything I watch. That’s why you should never blindly follow or buy anyone’s stock picks — even mine.

But there’s always something you can learn.

Watch out for patterns that fit your strategy. Always have a trading plan for every trade. Here are some resources to help you get started:

If you’ve been following my blog and lessons, you know I love to trade low-priced stocks. (To learn more about trading penny stocks, get my FREE guide here.)

The stocks on this list aren’t penny stocks. Even if I rarely trade higher-priced stocks, their movements can still affect stocks within my price range. So to me, they’re worth watching.

Now, here are 10 top stocks to watch today…

Stocks to Watch Today #1: PARTS iD, Inc. (NYSE: ID)

PARTS iD, Inc. sells aftermarket auto parts online. Yesterday it announced the expansion of its tire installation network. Customers can now purchase parts online with options for installation at over 12,000 locations.

Last week the company filed multiple Form 4s showing company directors purchased shares.

The stock is also probably moving with NFT plays since it’s an online retailer. It’s a lower-volume stock but has had volatile moves in the past.

Stocks to Watch Today #2: Aemetis, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMTX)

AMTX is the odd one out on today’s list — it’s an oil and gas company.

Its recent run is due to an analyst initiating coverage on the stock with a price target of $35. The stock is up a lot, so I wouldn’t chase it. Traders can watch for a panic dip buy opportunity.

Stocks to Watch Today #3: Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC)

Yesterday, INTC announced its $20 billion plan to build a chip manufacturing plant in Arizona.

CEO Pat Gelsinger said, “We’re going to be leaders in the market and we’re going to satisfy the new foundry customers, because the world needs more semiconductors and we’re going to step into that gap in a powerful and meaningful way.”

Read the full report here.

The stock gapped up on the news but faded after the open. The Nasdaq was down yesterday, bringing tech stocks with it. Traders can watch for a dip buy opportunity.

Stocks to Watch Today #4: Leaf Group Ltd. (NYSE: LEAF)

LEAF is an NFT stock. I traded it twice yesterday. I bought 4,000 shares at $8 when it looked like it would breakout above the $8.30–$8.40 resistance. Usually, I don’t like to buy in anticipation of a breakout. But even I break my own rules sometimes…

The stock didn’t break out, but I still managed to get out with a profit.* I sold at $8.26 after the stock couldn’t break through the $8.30 resistance for $1,040.*

In the afternoon, the stock broke out and I rebought it. I bought 5,000 shares at $8.57 with a plan to hold overnight if it closed strong. But I wussed out and sold at $8.61 for a profit of $200.*

(*Please note: My results are far from typical. Individual results will vary. Most traders lose money. I have the benefit of years of hard work, dedication, and experience. Trading is inherently risky. Do your due diligence and never risk more than you can afford to lose.)

Stocks to Watch Today #5: WISeKey International Holding AG (NASDAQ: WKEY)

WKEY is another NFT stock. It made my watchlist last week when NFT stocks started running. I traded it last week and again yesterday after it announced its NFT as proof of ownership.

StocksToTrade Breaking News Chat alerted me to the news fast. I bought 2,500 shares at $11.23, then sold at $14.34 for a profit of $7,775.*

Again, I sold too soon. The stock hit a high of $22.40. Traders can watch for continued upside with a potential short squeeze.

Stocks to Watch Today #6: Aptose Biosciences Inc. (NASDAQ: APTO)

APTO is a biotech stock. It’s been a hot sector this year, and it announced fourth-quarter earnings in after-hours on Tuesday.

The stock gapped up huge yesterday morning from $3.67 to $5.29. It continued to spike on high volume and made a high of $7.20. Traders can watch for continued upside.

Stocks to Watch Today #7: Funko, Inc. (NASDAQ: FNKO)

FNKO spiked yesterday after the CEO made comments that the toy and accessory company wants to enter the NFT space.

The stock spiked on high volume to a new 52-week high of $24.70. It has a float of around 20 million shares. It’s another one I wouldn’t chase. Traders can watch for a dip buy opportunity.

Stocks to Watch Today #8: Applied UV, Inc. (NASDAQ: AUVI)

Yesterday in premarket, AUVI announced it will install air purifiers in Fenway and JetBlue Parks.

Red Sox Executive Vice President Troup Parkinson said, “We are excited to work with SteriLumen and their Airocide brands which will be helping us with our air purification needs at Fenway Park and JetBlue Park.”

Read the full press release here.

AUVI is a former runner and has a low float of under 5 million shares. It could have volatile moves.

Stocks to Watch Today #9: Dolphin Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: DLPN)

After hours on Tuesday, DLPN announced it entered a partnership with Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Company (NASDAQ: HOFV). The companies plan to offer NFTs as a way for sports fans to buy and sell content.

DLPN is another low float stock with roughly 5 million shares.

Stocks to Watch Today #10: Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Company (NASDAQ: HOFV)

HOFV is the other side of the partnership I mentioned with DLPN. It’s a lower-priced stock compared to DLPN but has a larger float of around 50 million shares.

HOFV president and CEO Michael Crawford said, “We are thrilled to be partnering with Dolphin, an emerging thought leader in the NFT market, to accelerate our entry into the space.”

Frequently Asked Questions About Stocks to Watch Today

What Are the Best Stocks to Trade as a Beginner?

My favorite stocks to trade are penny stocks. I think they’re a great way for beginners to learn the trading process with a small account.

Can You Get Rich Trading Stocks?

Don’t come into trading with a get-rich-quick mindset. Trading is a marathon, not a sprint. It can be a lucrative career but it takes years of hard work and dedication to learn the nuances of the market — which is what I teach.

How Much Money Do You Need To Start Trading Stocks?

Only start trading with money you can afford to lose. You can start small. In fact, I teach traders to focus on education first to learn the process, then slowly scale up over time.

Is Trading Stocks Risky?

All trading is risky. No trader is right 100% of the time. That’s why I keep my losses small by cutting losses quickly.
