Top Stocks to Watch Today: Thursday, February 25

Looking for higher-priced stocks to watch today?

Today’s watchlist is all about earnings winners. But it also includes stocks moving on re-opening hopes and crypto news.

These higher-priced stocks might not be for everyone. But they still offer trading opportunities. And trading’s all about finding the right strategies and patterns that work best for you.

And a lot of higher-priced stocks were penny stocks not too long ago.

Keep that in mind if you’re trying to determine a company’s value. In bubble markets, the value doesn’t matter. It’s all about demand.

But the bubble could burst any day. Trade safely!

Here’s my list of the top 10 stocks to watch today…

10 Stocks to Watch for Thursday, February 25, 2021

Remember, this is a watchlist, not a ‘must trade’ list. I’m not always right, and I don’t trade everything I watch. That’s why you should never blindly follow or buy anyone’s stock picks — even mine.

But there’s always something you can learn.

Watch out for patterns that fit your strategy. Always have a trading plan for every trade. Here are some resources to help you get started:

If you’ve been following my blog and lessons, you know I love to trade low-priced stocks. (To learn more about trading penny stocks, get my FREE guide here.)

The stocks on this list aren’t penny stocks. Even if I rarely trade higher-priced stocks, their movements can still affect stocks within my price range. So to me, they’re worth watching.

Now, here are 10 top stocks to watch today…

Stocks to Watch Today #1: Upwork Inc. (NASDAQ: UPWK)

UPWK reported fourth-quarter earnings Tuesday in after-hours. The stock immediately spiked by $10 per share. Yesterday morning the stock made new all-time highs of $63.88 before fading off.

Traders can watch for the stock to find support and a potential bounce to retest the highs.

Stocks to Watch Today #2: Owens & Minor, Inc. (NYSE: OMI)

OMI is in the healthcare sector. It released its fourth-quarter earnings yesterday in premarket. The stock broke out to new multi-year highs of $35.73. The company also announced the election of two new members to its board of directors.

Traders can watch for continued upside momentum.

Stocks to Watch Today #3: ZK International Group Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ: ZKIN)

ZKIN was a penny stock earlier this month. Even though it’s not a penny stock by price definition — I’d treat it like one. It’s a Chinese steel company that’s entering the crypto business through its wholly-owned subsidiary.

Yesterday, it announced its subsidiary purchased an online crypto-contract for difference (CFD) trading platform.

Traders can watch for a multi-day breakout over $12.80. It has a low float of under 10 million shares. If it breaks out, it could be a volatile move.

Stocks to Watch Today #4: The ONE Group Hospitality, Inc. (NASDAQ: STKS)

STKS is another former penny stock. It’s also a consumer cyclical stock. The company owns multiple restaurants and lounges.

There’s no recent news on the company. It could be running on reopening hopes. Similar to the cruise line, theme park, and airline stocks.

Traders can watch for a multi-day breakout over $6.75. But I’d prefer to see more volume and a catalyst.

Stocks to Watch Today #5: Snap Inc. (NYSE: SNAP)

On Tuesday, SNAP senior product director Peter Sellis said the company is “in a position to drive multiple years of 50%-plus revenue growth.” The stock had a big green day and made new all-time highs following the news.

Yesterday the stock made new highs again. It retreated but still held near its highs. Traders can watch for a breakout to new highs over $73.59.

Stocks to Watch Today #6: Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NYSE: NCLH)

NCLH makes this list of stocks to watch because it was the sector’s biggest percent gainer yesterday. It also had a multi-month breakout over $29.79. The sector also has momentum on re-opening hopes.

But if you trade any of these stocks, go for singles. Cruise lines are still desperate for cash. Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE: CCL) has done multiple stock offerings in an attempt to raise capital.

Stocks to Watch Today #7: Marathon Oil Corporation (NYSE: MRO)

MRO was on my Tuesday watchlist and is still running. The stock is moving in sympathy with higher crude oil prices. It also released fourth-quarter earnings after hours on Tuesday.

(Disclaimer: Past performance is not indicative of future returns.)

Earnings winners can run for longer than you think. I go over them in my most comprehensive DVD, “How to Make Millions.”

Traders can watch for continued upside as long as crude oil prices continue to climb.

Stocks to Watch Today #8: PubMatic, Inc. (NASDAQ: PUBM)

PubMatic, Inc. is a tech company. Yesterday it made new all-time highs after releasing fourth-quarter earnings.  The stock had a huge gap up and traded higher than average volume.

Traders can watch for continued momentum and a breakout over yesterday’s high of $62.84.

Stocks to Watch Today #9: Thomson Reuters Corporation (NYSE: TRI)

TRI is another earnings winner. The company announced its fourth-quarter earnings in premarket Tuesday. The stock traded high volume and had a big green day.

As part of the earnings announcement, the company also provided a business update.

The stock’s trading near its all-time high of $89.97. Traders can watch for a breakout to new highs.

Stocks to Watch Today #10: Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: HALO)

HALO released fourth-quarter earnings on Tuesday, after hours. Yesterday morning the stock broke out to new all-time highs on higher than average volume.

Traders can watch for continued upside.

How I Find Stocks to Trade

There’s no big secret behind how I find stocks to trade. I always tell students to look at the biggest percent gainers on StocksToTrade.

Full disclosure: I helped develop StocksToTrade. I also invested in it. I wanted a tool to help me search specifically for the low-priced stocks I love to trade. I’m proud of it, and I truly believe this platform offers the top tools for traders to find and research stocks of any price.

STT has built-in watchlists, scans, beautiful charts, and all the indicators active traders need. It also has a social media feed and a news feed. And it includes broker integration so you can trade right from the platform.

I use it every day to find the stocks that fit my strategy — like volatile penny stocks with a catalyst and high volume.

And I credit the StocksToTrade Breaking News Chat feature for a huge portion of my over $1.1 million in profits in 2020.* The guys who run this service crank out breaking news FAST.

Try a 14-day trial of StocksToTrade with Breaking News Chat for only $17!

(*Please note: My results are far from typical. Individual results will vary. Most traders lose money. I have the benefit of years of hard work, dedication, and experience. Trading is inherently risky. Do your due diligence and never risk more than you can afford to lose.)

Frequently Asked Questions About Stocks to Watch Today

What Are the Best Stocks to Trade as a Beginner?

My favorite stocks to trade are penny stocks. I think they’re a great way for beginners to learn the trading process with a small account.

Can You Get Rich Trading Stocks?

Don’t come into trading with a get-rich-quick mindset. Trading is a marathon, not a sprint. It can be a lucrative career but it takes years of hard work and dedication to learn the nuances of the market — which is what I teach.

How Much Money Do You Need To Start Trading Stocks?

Only start trading with money you can afford to lose. You can start small. In fact, I teach traders to focus on education first to learn the process, then slowly scale up over time.

Is Trading Stocks Risky?

All trading is risky. No trader is right 100% of the time. That’s why I keep my losses small by cutting losses quickly.
